Azerbaijan boosts car imports

Azerbaijan imported 29,855 vehicles for various purposes worth $199.3 million from January to April this year.

Respectively, the figures are 47.4 per cent and 27.8 per cent more than for the same period last year, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee (SCC).

During four months, imports of vehicles designed to transport 10 and more people, including the driver, decreased 4.3 times and totalled 55 units ($3.772 million), while imports of passenger cars and other motor vehicles, mainly designed to transport people, increased by 27.9 per cent and totalled 27,589 units ($382.169 million).

Furthermore, imports of motor vehicles for cargo transportation increased by 42.8 per cent to 2,061 units (worth $30.375 million) and imports of special purpose motor vehicles increased by 48.5 per cent, to 150 units (worth $16.83 million).
