Azerbaijan celebrates 30 years of diplomatic relations with Georgia PHOTO

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has held an event and an exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The event, which kicked off with national anthems of both countries, was attended by the ministry leadership, the Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zurab Pataradze, as well as employees of the Georgian Embassy in Azerbaijan, Azertag reports, citing the ministry.

Then the foreign ministers of the two countries exchanged letters addressed to each other on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Speaking at the event, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov said that relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are based on historical roots and traditions of friendship, and over the past 30 years, relations have developed dynamically in many areas.

Khalafov emphasized that there are multifaceted relations of strategic partnership between the two countries in the political, economic, trade, energy, humanitarian and other spheres.

He also noted with satisfaction that the visit of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Georgia in October this year gave a special impetus to the development of bilateral political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between our countries.

The deputy minister conveyed congratulations on the occasion of a significant day, wished peace, tranquillity and prosperity to both peoples.

For his part, Ambassador Pataradze proudly pointed out the successes achieved in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia for 30 years, congratulated the participants of the event on this significant date.

The ambassador noted with satisfaction the high-level cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia in many areas.

Pataradze underlined more than a hundred documents that were signed between the two countries, covering various areas, and emphasized the expansion of economic cooperation.

In conclusion, the participants viewed a photo exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
