Azerbaijan clears around 800 unexploded ordnance PHOTO
The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has released its weekly report on demining operations carried out in territories liberated from occupation.
Between February 16 and 22, operations conducted in the Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khojavend, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, Gazakh, and Zangilan districts, as well as in the city of Khankendi, resulted in neutralisation of 175 anti-personnel mines, 28 anti-tank mines, and 796 items of unexploded ordnance, Caliber.Az reports.
A total of 1,616.5 hectares of land were cleared of mines and unexploded munitions during the reporting period.

Since the end of the Second Karabakh War, at least 417 people have been killed or injured by landmines and unexploded ordnance.
ANAMA is tasked with clearing mines, unexploded ordnance, and other explosive remnants of war—excluding chemical weapons—from territories liberated from occupation and other areas affected by military operations. Its responsibilities include temporary storage, transport, neutralisation of explosives, and the organisation, planning, coordination, and management of related activities.
