Azerbaijan exports to Georgia services worth $102 million
In 2021, the total value of Georgia's services exports amounted to $2.5 billion, and the total value of services imports was $1.8 billion.
Georgia's National Statistics Office provided the statistics in its report, according to Report.
According to the document, this is 61.2 per cent. It is 25.2 per cent more than in 2020.
As a result, the positive balance of the turnover of services increased almost six times and reached $724 million.
About $1.2 billion or 48.9 per cent of the services exported by Georgia last year were related to the tourism sector. It is followed by transportation services - $823 million (32.3 per cent) and telecommunications services - $216 million (8.5 per cent).
Some 16.6 per cent of the neighbouring country's exports are directed to the European Union (EU) countries, 36.1 per cent - to the CIS countries and 47.2 per cent - to other countries. In particular, services worth $365.5 million were exported to Türkiye, $242.1 million to Azerbaijan, and $206.7 million to Ukraine.
About $1.1 billion of services imported by Georgia last year were related to the transport sector. This is followed by tourism - $184 million and insurance services - $119 million.
Some 21.9 per cent of the neighbouring country's imports came from EU countries, 18.1 per cent from CIS countries, and 60 per cent from other countries. Among them, services worth $345 million were imported from China, $122 million from Iran and $102 million each from Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
