Azerbaijan extracts over 7.5m tons of oil, 12bn cu. m. of gas Results of 9 months of the year

In the third quarter of 2023, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) carried out over 15,000 meters of drilling work.

During the reporting period, the company produced about 2m tons of oil and about 2bn cubic meters of gas; a slight increase was recorded in oil production. The country produced over 7.5m tons of oil and 12bn cubic meters of gas. Gas production increased by 9.4 per cent compared to the corresponding period last year, APA reports with reference to SOCAR.

During the reporting period, SOCAR exported over 4.4 million tons of crude oil to world markets, and about 71 million cubic meters of natural gas to the Georgian market. In total, during the current period the country exported more than 5.8 billion cubic meters of gas. Compared to the same period last year, gas exports increased by 12.9 per cent.
