Azerbaijan finds human remains in liberated Aghdam This person could be killed in 1992
Human bones have been found in Sarijali village of Azerbaijan's Aghdam district.
Police officers, in the presence of a forensic expert, examined the scene, packed the remains and sent them for forensic expertise, the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry told Caliber.Az.
The remains are thought to be those of a man who was killed and buried [probably by Armenians] in 1992.
The investigation is underway.
During the First Karabakh War, the Armenian armed groups and the Armed Forces of Armenia grossly violated the norms and principles of international humanitarian law, including the requirements of Article 17 of the Geneva Convention "On the improvement of the condition of the wounded and sick in active armies."
In the period from February 2021 to April 2022, mass graves were found in liberated Shusha District's Dashalti village, Khojavand District's Edilli village, Khojali (Khojaly) District's Farrukh and Dashbashi villages, as well as during the reconstruction work on the liberated Aghdam, Shusha, Goygol, Tartar, Fuzuli, Kalbajar and Zangilan districts, remains were found that allegedly belong to 82 persons.
On September 14-30, 2022, Azerbaijan discovered another mass grave with 18 people's remains on the territory of Khojavand District's Edilli village.
