In turn, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov emphasized that relations between the two countries are based on mutual trust, understanding and respect.
“During the official visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Latvia in 2017, a “Joint Declaration on the establishment of a strategic partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Latvia” was signed, raising our relations to the level of strategic partnership,” he recalled.
According to Samir Sharifov, mutual visits between the two countries, official and working meetings at the level of heads of state are of great importance for strengthening relations.
