Azerbaijan, Iran bolster military ties through joint commission talks PHOTO
A delegation from Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defence has visited Tehran to attend a meeting of the Joint Commission on Military and Military-Technical Cooperation between Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry and the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Major General Farid Aliyev, Acting Chief of the Main Department of Military-Technical Supply, Caliber.Az reports referring to Defence Ministry.
During the visit, Major General Aliyev held a bilateral meeting with Brigadier General Mohammadreza Ashtiani, First Deputy Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces.
Discussions during the meeting focused on the current state and potential future developments in military cooperation between the two nations. Both sides exchanged views on key areas of mutual interest and explored ways to enhance collaboration.
Subsequently, the Joint Commission convened for in-depth discussions on the progress of existing military partnerships. The talks also explored opportunities to expand the scope of future military-technical cooperation.
The visit concluded with the signing of a protocol, detailing the agreed areas of cooperation and outlining plans for further engagement.
