Azerbaijan is in intense contact with NATO over the next few days, with Azerbaijan's defence ministry holding a meeting with NATO delegates in Baku on November 21, the first of many scheduled for the upcoming days in the capital within the framework of "NATO Days" while an Azerbaijani delegation attends the 68th session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Madrid.

The First Deputy Defence Minister, Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel-General Karim Valiyev met with the Deputy Chief of Staff at Partnership Directorate at NATO’s Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, Rear Admiral Gunnstein Bruåsdal on November 21.

Colonel-General Valiyev noted the development of relations between Azerbaijan and NATO, as well as the active participation of representatives of the Azerbaijani army in various NATO programmes, Caliber.Az reports citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.

While emphasising the importance of victory in the second Karabakh war under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the chief of the General Staff spoke about the work being carried out in the liberated territories in the post-war period.

The prospects for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO were discussed at the meeting.

At the same time, an Azerbaijani delegation is attending the 68th session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in the Spanish capital of Madrid.

The session brings together representatives of the alliance’s 30 member countries, as well as partner countries, according to Report.
