Azerbaijan, OTS discuss developments in Turkic world
Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliyev met with Azerbaijani Presidential Aide Hikmat Hajiyev.
The meeting was held at the OTS Secretariat in Istanbul, Caliber.Az reports.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues on the agenda of the OTS, as well as preparations for the upcoming events of the organisation.
The sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Turkic world.
Moreover, according to Hajiyev's X (Twitter) post, a new mechanism of dialogue and consultations was launched within the organisation.
"Within the Organisation of Turkic States, we launched a new mechanism of dialogue and consultations at the level of assistants and diplomatic advisors of Presidents to catch up with the vision and strategic goals of Summits of OTS," he wrote.
To recap, on Azerbaijan's initiative, an informal meeting of foreign policy assistants/advisers of the heads of member states of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Istanbul.
The meeting was attended by officials of the OTS Secretariat, as well as delegations of member states to discuss relevant issues on the agenda of the Organisation.
During the discussions, attention was focused on the development of OTS activities, and the need for closer cooperation between the member states in political, economic and humanitarian spheres was emphasised.
The participants of the meeting also touched upon the issues related to the organisation of the forthcoming X Summit of the OTS in Kazakhstan, stressing the importance of the documents to be signed during the Summit from the point of view of strengthening relations in the Turkic world and promoting common goals.
The talks also discussed the expansion of cooperation with international and regional organisations. The delegations explored potential opportunities for cooperation and joint initiatives to promote stability, prosperity and peace in the region and beyond.
The meeting served as a platform for constructive dialogue and strategic planning in line with the OTS's commitment to promote deeper cooperation among Turkic states in a changing global environment within the framework of the Turkic World Vision 2040 and the OTS Strategy 2022-2026.
