Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports show strong growth, nearing $500 million
Azerbaijan's non-oil exports reached nearly $500 million in the first two months of 2025, totaling $485 million.
According to the report by the Centre for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), this marks a significant 6.6 per cent increase in non-oil export volume compared to the same period in 2024, highlighting the continued diversification of Azerbaijan's economy, Caliber.Az reports.
The export data reveals substantial growth across various sectors. Food product exports saw a notable rise, increasing by 12.3 per cent to $153.9 million in January and February. Additionally, exports of ferrous metals and their products surged by 66.9 per cent, while sugar and confectionery products made from sugar grew by 47 per cent.
Exports of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages also saw a robust 10.2 per cent increase, reflecting strong demand in international markets. The chemical products sector expanded by 30 per cent, and tea exports climbed by 21.3 per cent. Aluminium and aluminium products rounded out the growth, showing a moderate 2.8 per cent increase in exports during the same period.
This early-year performance underscores Azerbaijan's successful efforts to strengthen its non-oil export sector, bolstering its economic resilience as the country continues to reduce its reliance on oil revenues.
