Azerbaijan secures EBRD funding for 10 projects worth €81 million in 2025
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) allocated €81 million to fund 10 projects in Azerbaijan in 2025.
As of December 31, 2025, the bank’s total loan portfolio for projects in the country stood at €906 million, with 40% directed to the private sector. Currently, 36 projects remain active, Caliber.Az reports via EBRD.
The EBRD reports that the bulk of the portfolio—90% or €812 million—is dedicated to sustainable infrastructure development, while 7% (€64 million) supports financial institutions, and 3% (€30 million) is invested in the corporate sector.
Since entering Azerbaijan, the bank has financed 201 projects with a total investment of €3.648 billion. The bank’s operating assets in the country amounted to €695 million as of December 31, 2025.
In 2024, the EBRD provided €199 million in loans for eight projects, marking a 27.56% increase, or €43 million more, compared with the previous year.
