Azerbaijan sees slight increase in non-oil and gas exports
The Azerbaijani Centre for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication has said that from January to October 2024, Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas exports increased by 3.5 per cent compared to the same period of last year, reaching a total of $2.8 billion.
Food exports from Azerbaijan saw a notable rise of 13.6 per cent, reaching $803.1 million, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Moreover, exports of agricultural products grew by 5.7 per cent, totaling $603.5 million, while exports of processed agricultural goods surged by 60.3 per cent, amounting to $260.9 million.
From January to September 2024, Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas export value increased by 1.3 per cent compared to the same period of last year, reaching $2.5 billion. The value of food exports saw a significant rise of 13.3 per cent, totaling $698.3 million.
During the reporting period, sugar and sweet confectionery products accounted for 83.3 per cent, cotton fiber for 70.9 per cent, vegetable oils and fats for 31.7 per cent, chemical industry products for 20.9 per cent, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for 11.6 per cent.
Processed fruit and vegetable products saw an increase of 14.6 per cent. Over the past year, the value of exports of agro-industrial products rose by 60 per cent, reaching $233.4 million, while the overall value of agricultural and agro-industrial exports grew by 17.8 per cent, totaling $755.4 million.
