Azerbaijan unveils documentary on Western Azerbaijan's material and cultural heritage PHOTO
The Public Association "Support of Information and Social Initiatives" has completed the production of a documentary focusing on the material and cultural heritage of Western Azerbaijan.
The film highlights historical monuments such as the Selim Caravanserai, Tepebashi Mosque, and Amir Saad Mausoleum, Caliber.Az reports.
These monuments, reflecting the ancient history and rich cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people, have suffered vandalism under Armenian control. The documentary aims to bring this issue to the attention of the international community and relevant organizations.
Renowned historians and researchers contributed to the making of the film, which will feature English subtitles to reach a broader audience. Additionally, the project includes the creation of an electronic database cataloguing the material and cultural monuments of Western Azerbaijan.
The documentary underscores the importance of preserving and protecting the cultural identity and heritage of Western Azerbaijan. It serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience and determination of the Azerbaijani people in their quest to return to and restore their ancestral lands.

It is worth noting that a comprehensive and systematic effort is currently underway to rectify the decades-long violation of the rights of Western Azerbaijanis and facilitate their return to their ancestral homeland.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev played a key role in advancing this cause when he met with a delegation of West Azerbaijani intellectuals on December 24, 2023, coinciding with his birthday. This meeting laid the groundwork for more organized and coordinated efforts in this direction.
The community, which serves as an advocate for the rights of Western Azerbaijanis that have been violated for decades, has taken a leading role in these efforts. It actively informs the world community about Armenia's destruction of the historical and cultural heritage of our people and tirelessly works for the repatriation of tens of thousands of Western Azerbaijanis to their native lands.
