Azerbaijani Border Service foils attempted border violation Afghan nationals detained
In a proactive move to secure the state border, the Lankaran border detachment of Azerbaijan's State Border Guard Service intercepted and detained three Afghan nationals attempting to breach the border from Iran into Azerbaijan.
The incident unfolded on March 1 at 21:00 local time, when the Lankaran border detachment swiftly responded to an attempted violation of the state border in the direction from Iran to Azerbaijan.
The detained individuals were identified as Hamrai Naqibullah Basir (born in 1998), Gurbani Zabedullah Bahrhak (born in 1998), and Osmani Fazil Ahmad (born in 2003), all citizens of Afghanistan.
According to reports from the State Border Guard Service, the detained individuals were apprehended during the attempted border crossing. The detainees were promptly taken into custody by the Lankaran detachment for further processing.
The State Border Guard Service informed Caliber.Az that operative-investigative measures are currently underway to gather additional information and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the attempted border violation.
