Azerbaijani embassy dispatches consul to Russia’s Domodedovo Airport
The Azerbaijani embassy in Russia has announced that 21 Azerbaijani nationals were stranded at Domodedovo Airport for the second consecutive day.
The Consul of the Azerbaijani embassy in Russia was dispatched to the airport at the request of Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Russian Federation Polad Bulbuloglu to investigate the situation, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
It was determined on-site that only 4 out of 21 individuals are Azerbaijani citizens and are subject to deportation for violating Russian immigration laws. According to the current Russian legislation, individuals awaiting deportation must be restrained with handcuffs in public places as part of their expulsion process.
At the airport, the consul met with the officials from the bailiffs' office responsible for the deportees and representatives from the Domodedovo Airport administration. Four Azerbaijani citizens have been provided with all necessary assistance and are currently awaiting the flight with Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) to Baku.
