Azerbaijani State Border Service detains over 200 wanted people on border
The Azerbaijani State Border Service continued taking measures to reliably protect the state border, combat smuggling, illegal migration, and illegal drug trafficking in October 2022.
Some 30 people, trying to cross the border with false passports and Schengen visas, were detained as part of the fight against illegal migration, the State Border Service told Caliber.Az.
The corresponding measures were taken towards detaining 25 people who violated the border crossing rules and 678 people who violated the border regime rules.
The law enforcement agencies identified and handed over 234 wanted people to the appropriate agencies as a result of anti-crime measures. The departure of 420 people who were forbidden to leave the country and the arrival of 24 people were prevented by being forbidden from entering the country.
Some 39 kg 036 grams of drugs and 759 psychotropic pills were revealed and seized as a result of measures to combat illegal drug trafficking in October 2022.
