Baku will host the 6th Plenary Session of the Tenth GlobE Network Steering Committee Meeting between May 19 and 23, 2025, bringing together more than 300 participants from over 120 government bodies representing 92 countries, including 21 prosecutor's offices, 53 independent anti-corruption agencies, and 16 international organisations.

Additionally, more than 60 participants will join online. Over 100 presentations are scheduled across panel discussions, sessions, and side events, Caliber.Az reports, citing an article by Heydar Mammadov, Deputy Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan and State Justice Counsellor of the 2nd class.

Mammadov, who is also the head of the event’s organising committee, stated in his article:

“The 6th Plenary Session of the GlobE Network to be held in Baku is not only a testament to Azerbaijan’s international reputation but also a clear reflection of our country’s contribution to the global consensus in the fight against corruption. Through this important event, Azerbaijan has the opportunity to once again showcase its legal reforms, digitalization initiatives, and achievements in international cooperation.”

The article also highlights that the event will feature plenary sessions and side events addressing pressing topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in anti-corruption efforts, asset confiscation, freezing of bank accounts, public awareness, as well as bilateral meetings and the signing of cooperation memoranda.

The piece also added that the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan is taking significant steps to enhance international legal cooperation, and its consistent efforts in this direction are further boosting the country’s standing on the global legal stage.

Notably, the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (the GlobE Network) was established in 2021 and is open to anti-corruption law enforcement authorities of all UN Member States and States parties to the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). The Network is governed by its members and is supported by the United Nations Office against Drugs and Crime (UNODC), which provides the Network’s secretariat.

Through the GlobE Network, operational law enforcement authorities with an anti-corruption mandate can join forces to advance transnational corruption cases. These authorities include anti-corruption agencies, police forces, prosecutor’s offices and offices of the attorney general, asset recovery offices and financial investigation units.

Practical support to investigators and prosecutors includes the GlobE Secure Communications Platform (SCP) for swift, secure exchange of information and other specialised resources and tools. With partners, the Network strives for effective and efficient transnational cooperation between practitioners worldwide.
