Belarus, Azerbaijan near deal on local production of medicines, vaccines
Azerbaijan and Belarus are advancing plans to expand bilateral cooperation, including the establishment of pharmaceutical production facilities in Azerbaijan and the development of an agro-industrial hub in Aghdam district.
Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov announced the progress during the 15th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Sharifov stated that the master plan for the joint agro-town project has been approved, and a working group has been formed to oversee the creation of an agricultural and industrial cluster in the village of Gizil Kangarli.
He also revealed that negotiations on introducing Belarusian technologies into Azerbaijan’s pharmaceutical industry — including the local production of medicines and vaccines — are approaching their final stage.
