Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan talk over expanding trade, investment ties

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov has held talks with Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev on strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.

According to a statement by Jabbarov on X, the meeting was held during his working visit to Turkmenistan for the ninth meeting of the Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission.

The two officials discussed ways to improve the effectiveness of the commission’s work and explored opportunities to expand cooperation in trade, investment, industrial development and business ties, Jabbarov said.

The meeting is part of ongoing efforts by Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan to deepen economic relations and develop new areas of partnership between the two Caspian neighbours.
