Belgian ambassador anticipates COP29 as landmark event in Azerbaijan's history

During an international seminar at ADA University on "Opportunities and Challenges of Combating Climate Change: European and Regional Perspectives," Belgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Michel Peetermans asserted that COP29 will stand as one of the most crucial events in Azerbaijan's history.

"COP29 will be one of the most important international events to occur in Azerbaijan since its independence," he stressed, according to Trend.

The ambassador underscored the necessity of making decisions at both global and local levels to address climate change effectively. Peetermans highlighted that combating climate change demands decisive and coordinated efforts from all major stakeholders.

Furthermore, he noted that financing will be a central theme of COP29.
