Caucasus Muslims Office chair to attend UNAOC global forum in Portugal

Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade will travel to Portugal to participate in the 10th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC).

The forum, scheduled for November 26-27, will take place in Cascais, Portugal, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

Pashazade’s visit follows an invitation from Miguel Ángel Moratinos, High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.

During the event, under the motto “United in Peace: Restoring Trust, Reshaping the Future,” Pashazade will address the first plenary session, marking the 20th anniversary of the Alliance. He will also speak at the “Global Conference on the Protection of Religious Sites.”

UN Secretary-General António Guterres will also attend the forum, which aims to promote interfaith dialogue and cooperation across cultures.

On November 27, Pashazade will take part in the inaugural meeting of the new Board of Directors of the The International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) in Lisbon.
