Erdoğan: Azerbaijan-Armenia peace to benefit Türkiye, Russia
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said that a lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia would serve the interests of both Türkiye and Russia.
Erdoğan made the remarks during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in China, Caliber.Az reports per the Directorate of Communications of the Republic of Türkiye.

Erdoğan emphasised that Türkiye-Russia relations in trade, tourism, investment, and energy continue to develop based on mutual respect and shared interests.
“Our president highlighted Türkiye’s efforts to end the war in Ukraine through the establishment of a just and lasting peace and expressed confidence that the Istanbul talks have contributed to the peace process,” the statement said.
Erdoğan also expressed hope that ongoing negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia would lead to a durable peace and that long-term stability in the Caucasus would align with the interests of both Türkiye and Russia.
The leaders also discussed Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and developments in Syria, with Erdoğan stressing the importance of maintaining the country’s territorial integrity and political unity.
