EU representatives briefed on Azerbaijani citizens’ visa problems
The EU representatives have been informed about the visa problems of Azerbaijani citizens as the 7th meeting of the Joint Committee on Visa Facilitation between the country and the European Union (EU) was held in Baku on November 23.
The event brought together representatives of the foreign ministry and other state structures of Azerbaijan, representatives of the European Commission, Directorate-General (DG) for Migration and Home Affairs, employees of the Azerbaijani representation to the EU, and consuls of diplomatic missions of EU states accredited in Azerbaijan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Caliber.Az.
The difficulties Azerbaijani citizens faced while applying to diplomatic missions for visas were highlighted, and the mechanism for coping with these problems was discussed at the meeting.
The sides had a constructive and detailed discussion of issues related to the mechanism of visa regime simplification, and the prospects for expanding beneficial cooperation between the European Union and Azerbaijan in this field.
The meeting saw the presentation of statistical data for 2022 and the expired period of 2023, emphasizing a significant increase in the number of reciprocal trips between the citizens of Azerbaijan and the European Union.
