FM: Grain agreement efforts "showcase" of Turkish diplomacy
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said that Ankara's grain agreement efforts have become the "showcase" of national diplomacy.
He made the remarks at the opening of the 13th Conference of Turkish ambassadors in Ankara on August 8, Anadolu informs.
"Ankara's efforts in Ukraine, including the achievement of a 'grain agreement', have become a showcase for Turkish diplomacy. Turkey has been and remains on the side of the right, and stands for justice. This was also the case in the Karabakh issue. For decades we have declared the inadmissibility of the occupation of Azerbaijani lands," Cavusoglu said.
He said that Turkish diplomacy should be proactive, aimed at eliminating contradictions and solving problems. Cavusoglu noted the efforts of Turkish diplomats take place both on a bilateral basis and in the context of international organisations and trilateral dialogue mechanisms.
He said that in the period after the 44-day war, Ankara continues its efforts to ensure peace and stability in the South Caucasus, the formation of an atmosphere of cooperation.
"We once again warn Armenia about the inadmissibility of further provocations," the Turkish minister said.
"Our country is not an enemy of any country. Everyone who claims the opposite is biased," the minister stressed.
Conference of Ambassadors
The conference on the topic: "Wise and benevolent Turkish diplomacy: in 2023 and beyond" will continue its work during the week.
The agenda of the conference, which will last a week, includes, among others, the efforts of Turkish diplomacy to resolve crisis situations, including ensuring a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, the topic of the "grain corridor", and the processes in the Eastern Mediterranean and NATO.
The event is of particular importance in the context of consolidating the efforts of internal structures and the effectiveness of Turkish diplomacy.
