FM: Yerevan committed to continuing political dialogue with Moscow
Armenia remains committed to maintaining a constructive and effective political dialogue with Russia, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.
“This visit provides an excellent opportunity to address issues of bilateral cooperation and engage in a comprehensive exchange of views on both regional and international agendas,” Mirzoyan said, Caliber.Az reports referring to Armenian media sources.
The Armenian foreign minister underscored his country’s dedication to open and transparent dialogue while urging Russia to adopt a balanced approach in addressing shared concerns.
“Armenia is interested in continuing effective political dialogue aimed at discussing issues affecting our bilateral relations and the regional situation in general. Armenia has always adhered to the principles of open and constructive dialogue, and we hope that Russia will continue to take into account all aspects of what is going on, avoiding unilateral interpretations, which we have unfortunately seen recently,” he remarked.
Mirzoyan expressed hope that the discussions would foster greater mutual understanding between the two nations. Highlighting Armenia’s approach to cooperation on international platforms, he noted: “Yerevan always tries to understand Moscow's interests and wishes that the Russian side also takes into account Armenia's interests to some extent.”
