French expert exposes corrupt acts of Armenian diaspora in Europe
The Brussels-based French newspaper Le Vid has published an article by Sebastian Boussoua, PhD in Political Science and expert on the Middle East, under the title "ArmenianGate? Europe must urgently clean up its friendship groups", Azertag reports.
“The corruption case that shook the European Parliament and European institutions could put the institution in a bad light again. The European Union should warn its representatives about this in every possible way. The large Armenian diaspora in Europe has been spreading radical messages against Azerbaijan for decades, as well as against anyone who might harm Armenian interests,” the article says.
In the article, Boussoua describes the illegal actions of the Armenian national Kaspar Karampetyan and how the signing of the statement in the European Parliament against Azerbaijan was organised illegally. The article notes that the 33 countries that signed the statement accusing Azerbaijan are members of the friendship group with Armenia in the European Parliament and have close links with the pro-Armenian organisation EAFJD (European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy), funded by Kaspar Karampetyan, a native of Greece, who has Luxembourg and Armenian citizenship.
“The Friendship Group with Armenia in the European Parliament was headed by the Greek MP Lukas Furlas, who is close to Karampetyan, and his Twitter account is very active in this direction. Members of the European Parliament visited a number of countries, in particular Armenia, precisely at his invitation. Photographs taken during visits to Armenia and Karabakh in 2018 show that Karampetyan participated in meetings with European MPs. It turned out that the EAFJD also invited representatives of the Karabakh separatists to Strasbourg and Brussels. On November 10, 2021, a friendship group led by Karampetyan resumed its activities in Brussels. The official website of the EAFJD also published a photo of the pro-Armenian French MP Francois-Xavier Bellamy with him,” the article says.
The article also talks about the Armenian millionaire's illegal business. It is emphasised that Karampetyan did not choose Brussels for his business by chance. The lack of transparency in the diamond business in Belgium, the importation of minerals into Europe from conflict zones in Africa and their illegal certification are cited as examples. Having bought jewellery boutiques in Belgium, Karampetyan has created a vast bloody diamond trading network. He smuggles coloured diamonds from conflict zones in Africa into Belgium, then certifies these diamonds through an elaborate corruption scheme and sends them to branded boutiques across Europe.
The material also noted that having been for some time in close proximity to the Armenian terrorist organisation ASALA, Karampetyan played a leading role for many years in attempts to make the occupation regime legitimate in the political salons of Europe and in the European Parliament. At a gala event in Brussels, he boasted that several years ago he raised 3.8 million euros to support Armenian separatism. To discredit Azerbaijan, he offered trips to Armenia and Karabakh to representatives of several structures. According to Armenian sources, Cypriot MEP Eleni Theokarus visited there in 2018 and was even photographed with the head of the local parliament.
The article stresses the need to investigate the European-Armenian friendship group's links with Karampetyan.
