A commemorative exhibition titled “We Have Not Forgotten, We Will Not Let You Forget” has been held at the M.F. Akhundzada Museum of Azerbaijani Culture in Tbilisi to mark the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.
The exhibition featured photographs depicting scenes from the February 1992 tragedy in the town of Khojaly. A documentary film recounting the events and historical background of the massacre was also screened as part of the programme, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Speaking at the event, the museum’s deputy director, Leyla Aliyeva, described the tragedy as a grave crime committed not only against the Azerbaijani people, but against humanity as a whole. She stressed that preserving the memory of the victims and raising international awareness remains a moral responsibility.
Commemorations were also held in Batumi, where a memorial ceremony took place at the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Batumi. The Azerbaijani flag at the consulate’s administrative building was lowered to half-mast in honour of those who lost their lives.
