Georgian ruling party chair exposes Western proposal for brief warfare with Russia
Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and honorary chairman of Georgia's ruling party, Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia, has made startling revelations regarding a conversation involving former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and a high-ranking Western official.
In an interview with the Imedi TV channel, Ivanishvili recounted that the official suggested that Georgia initiate a war with Russia that would last three to four days, followed by a shift to guerrilla warfare, Caliber.Az reports.
"I recall what Irakli Garibashvili told me. During a discussion with a senior official from a Western country, Garibashvili asked, 'How many days can we fight Russia? How long can we hold out?' The response was three to four days. He replied, 'And for these three or four days, you want us to be destroyed?' The official countered, 'Well, there are 3-4 million of you. Not everyone will be killed in three or four days. Then you can start a guerrilla movement in the forests. We'll help you, and you can fight from there,'" Ivanishvili explained.
In the same interview, Ivanishvili criticized the liberal ideology of Georgia's radical opposition, deeming it dangerous.
He asserted that the ideologists behind these views have successfully monopolized the media in many developed countries, including Georgia. "The ideology that today's liberals call liberalism is very dangerous," he stated.
Ivanishvili also expressed confidence that the radical liberals would ultimately fail in Georgia, claiming that true democracy has taken root in the republic.
He labelled the party of former President Mikheil Saakashvili, the "United National Movement," as a "tumor" that must be removed.
"A significant external force supports them. We need a constitutional majority to ban them... If we don't eliminate the tumour, it will spread," he warned.
He further emphasized that for the past 12 years, the opposition has been creating a perpetual revolutionary situation and described its members as "enemies of the people" who need to be prohibited.
