ICESCO headquarter welcomes Azerbaijani culture minister
Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture, Anar Karimov, has been welcomed at the headquarter of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Rabat on November 20.
According to Report, the meeting with the organization's General Director, Salim Mohammed Al Malik, occurred during the Azerbaijani delegation's visit to Marocco.
Al Malik talked about his previous visits to Azerbaijan, mentioning that he has been to the liberated districts already twice and is looking forward to being welcomed in our country again.
Minister Karimov has noted thankfully the fact, that ISESCO was the first international organization that visited Azerbaijan's districts liberated from occupation and recalled, that it does not politicize the protection of cultural heritage unlike other organizations based on religion or national ethnicity.
He further expressed his hope that on the occasion of the 270th anniversary of Azerbaijan's cultural capital, Shusha, the city will win the nomination for the title "Cultural capital of the Islamic World 2024".
ICESCO projects currently undertaken in Azerbaijan were also discussed during the meeting, after which Minister Karimov was invited to the recently opened "Exhibition and Museum of Prophet's Seerah" in the headquarter and gifted a Quran written in Azerbaijani language to the museum.
