Milli Majlis committee condemns anti-Azerbaijani reports of European Parliament
The Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Relations of the Milli Majlis has released a statement regarding annual reports adopted by the European Parliament's International Relations Committee on November 29, 2023.
The statement strongly condemns the biased, unethical, and ridiculous statements against Azerbaijan in these reports. The reports contradict international law and threaten the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, as per Report.
According to the statement, the reports consider Azerbaijan's restoration of its sovereignty in the Karabakh region, an internationally recognized territory, as military aggression during anti-terrorist measures. They also call for sanctions against Azerbaijan, accusing the country of violating international norms.
The statement emphasized that the European deputies' irresponsible actions create obstacles to the peace process based on new realities in the region. The Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Relations of Milli Majlis declared that the papers prepared by the Committee on International Relations of the European Parliament have no legal value and demanded an immediate cessation of anti-Azerbaijani activities.
