Minister: Iran, Azerbaijan to sign agreement on Araz corridor

Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash has said that an agreement on the Araz Corridor will be signed between Iran and Azerbaijan next month.

In this regard, a corresponding event, in which the Russian representatives will also take part, will be held, Bazrpash told journalists, Trend reports.

The Iranian minister said that after the contractor company was chosen, the process of creating the Araz corridor was launched. This process includes the construction of a bridge across the Araz River and the expansion of the highway.

The Araz corridor, passing through Iran, will connect the East Zangezur economic region of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
