MoD: Activities of illegal Armenian armed groups suppressed in Aghdam, Khojaly
The activities of illegal Armenian armed groups were suppressed in Azerbaijan's Aghdam and Khojaly districts.
The Azerbaijani army units noticed members of the illegal Armenian armed groups carrying out engineering operations on November 17 from 09:55 to 14:45 in the territory of Aghdam and Khojaly districts, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily stationed, to strengthen their military positions, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Defence Ministry.
Such actions are a gross violation of the tripartite statement signed by the Azerbaijani, Russian and Armenian leaders on 10 November 2020, the ministry stressed.
The necessary measures have been taken by the units of the Azerbaijani army to stop these illegal activities, it added.
Moreover, the ministry has dismissed Armenia's ceasefire breach allegations in a separate report.
The information disseminated by the Armenian Defence Ministry that the Azerbaijani army units allegedly opened fire at 11 am on November 17, wounding a soldier of the opposite side, is a lie, APA reports, via the ministry.
"We resolutely refute the spread information," the ministry emphasised.
