OIC conference calls for investing in liberated Azerbaijani lands

The Model Conference of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called for investing in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan in Karabakh and supporting the Azerbaijani government to restore territories liberated from the Armenian occupation in 2020.

The conference, which simulated the session of the OIC Standing Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation, was held in Indonesia on August 1, Report informs citing the Eurasian Regional Centre of the OIC Youth Forum (ERC of the OIC Youth Forum). 

"The final resolution calls on the OIC member states, international development agencies and international financial institutions to invest in the liberated territories of Karabakh and support the Azerbaijani government in restoring the territories destroyed as a result of the Armenian aggression," the report says.

It is noted that at the opening of the conference,  OIC Youth Forum Acting Director Vusal Gurbanov spoke about the importance of implementing the OIC Model both at the national and international levels. In particular, he noted that this program plays an important role in improving the leadership abilities of young people in the OIC region.

The main objectives of this project are to strengthen international cooperation among young people in the OIC space, as well as to assist managers and representatives of youth organisations in acquiring knowledge and experience in the field of diplomacy, management, and communication.
