OSCE chairman: Sustainable peace - favourable for both Azerbaijan, Armenia
Acting OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister for Foreign, Trade and European Affairs of Malta Ian Borg has visited Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Borg listened to the positions of the sides to obtain information about the prospects for peace, various security issues and humanitarian problems, according to Report.
“Achieving sustainable and comprehensive peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia meets the interests of both sides and remains the top priority for the OSCE,” he noted.
“Proceeding from the discussions I have had in both countries, I have noticed the progress. I am optimistic that a comprehensive agreement may be reached soon. Such processes are complex and time-consuming. We must not put pressure on negotiators by setting deadlines. The main thing is the quality and sustainability of the peace agreement. We need pragmatism, realism and genuine political will to achieve peace and security,” he added.
