PACE not to benefit from challenging power of Azerbaijani delegation Ukrainian MP says
Member of the Ukrainian delegation to the PACE, Oleksiy Honcharenko has said that challenging the powers of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will not have positive consequences for the organization itself.
"I, personally, did not support this decision at the assembly," Honcharenko said, Report informs.
Goncharenko explained that the decision will be made first by the monitoring committee and then finally approved at the assembly meeting. The main argument against Azerbaijan is that the country has not invited the mission to observe the presidential elections scheduled for early February.
According to him, it is quite difficult to predict the outcome of the situation: "The situation is really not simple".
