PM Pashinyan: Armenia has no claims on territories beyond recognized borders
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has emphasized that Armenia does not lay claim to territories beyond its internationally recognized borders, including the four villages currently under discussion.
Pashinyan made the remarks at a meeting with his fellow party members in Artashat on March 30, TASS reports.
He said the Armenian government believes that Azerbaijan is looking for a reason to start a new large-scale war and can use the situation around four villages that came under Yerevan's control as a result of military actions in the 1990s to do so.
"We have never claimed the territory of these villages. This should be stated very clearly, especially in those conditions when it is obvious to us that Azerbaijan is trying to find a reason to start a new large-scale war in the region. And our political position is as follows: we do not claim territories outside the internationally recognized borders of our country, including these villages that Azerbaijan is talking about," he said.
