Russia claims strike on Ukrainian defence industry facilities near Kyiv MOD statement
Russia's Ministry of Defence said its forces had carried out strikes on multiple Ukrainian defence industry facilities in and around Kyiv, targeting sites involved in the production of drones, armoured vehicles, missile systems and other military equipment.
In a statement, the ministry said the strikes hit the "Kyiv-71" facility, part of the Abris PT consortium, which it described as being involved in the development and manufacture of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), Caliber.Az reports.
Russia also claimed to have targeted the Kyiv-1 radio-electronic assembly plant, the Kyiv-79 industrial enterprise, the Kuznytsia na Rybalskomu shipyard, the Kvant instrument-making plant, and the Vizar machine-building plant in Zhuliany.
According to the ministry, the facilities manufacture or repair drones, armoured vehicles, radar systems, missile components, naval equipment and other military hardware for Ukraine's armed forces.
The ministry further said the strikes hit a fuel and lubricants depot in the town of Vyshneve near Kyiv, claiming a second large explosion was recorded at the site. It alleged the facility stored fuel used for emergency deliveries to Ukrainian forces.
Earlier, former Ukrainian lawmaker Ihor Mosiychuk reported that an ammunition depot in Vyshneve had been struck, prompting local authorities to order evacuations.
