Russia increases supply of uranium, palladium to US
The United States imported $732.4 million worth of goods from Russia in October, which is 2.2 times more than in September.
It is a record amount in monetary terms over the past five months, RBC reports citing data from the US Census Bureau.
Under sanctions, supplies from Russia to the US are limited almost exclusively to nuclear fuel, platinum group metals, and mineral fertilizers.
The publication said Moscow increased its imports of enriched uranium (uranium fluoride) to $184.7 million, the highest since November 2016. Russia has sold $189 million worth of raw palladium to the United States, a record since February of this year.
Russia also shipped $34.7 million worth of platinum and $29.6 million worth of rhodium to the United States.
Russian mineral fertilizer shipments were up 29 per cent from last October. Over the past ten months, US imports of Russian fertilizers totaled $1.36 billion, more than the entire 2021 figure.
