21 August 2022 10:31
The president of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), Luc Tardif, has said that the organisation is not going to allow the national teams of Russia and Belarus to participate in IIHF tournaments in 2023.
"Russia and Belarus are still not allowed to compete next season. Decisions on them will be updated from season to season," journalist Chris Peters quotes Tardif as saying on Twitter, Gazeta.Ru reports.
The IIHF head added that the organisation left the issue of sanctions against hockey players for playing in the championships of Russia and Belarus at the discretion of the national federations.
