Russian official: US directly involved in Ukraine hostilities

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said that Washington is directly involved in hostilities in Ukraine.

The matter rests on the US direct involvement in hostilities, she said at a briefing on September 15, TASS reports.

"The US is demonstrating its interest in prolonging the hostilities in Ukraine as much as possible and, of course, in controlling this situation, that is, the matter rests on the US direct involvement in hostilities," she noted.

Zakharova said that the US officials admit that the US military has been preparing for Ukraine’s recent counteroffensive for several months.

"Then I have a question. Are these the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the Armed Forces of the West? Moreover, they [the US] provided Ukraine with intelligence data and weapons. Excuse me, this is direct involvement, rather than consulting services, psychological and moral support," the spokesperson added.
