Slovenia eyes stronger ties with Azerbaijan in key economic mission
The first meeting of the joint working group on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovenia will take place in Baku in March, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations.
Public Agency for Entrepreneurship, Internationalization, Foreign Investments and Technology of Slovenia (SPIRIT) announced the upcoming visit, set to bring the Slovenian Minister of Economy, Tourism, and Sport, Matjaž Han, to Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
From March 10 to 13, organized by SPIRIT in collaboration with the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) and the Ministries of Economy, Tourism and Sport, and Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, a business delegation will visit Baku. The visit will coincide with the Slovenian Minister’s official trip and aims to foster stronger economic ties between the two nations.
The key focus of the visit will be the inaugural meeting of the joint working group on economic cooperation. In addition, the business mission will feature a forum, B2B meetings, and informal discussions aimed at establishing lasting business contacts. The primary goal is to introduce Slovenian companies to Azerbaijan's business environment, facilitating potential partnerships and trade agreements between the two countries.
SPIRIT highlighted that the visit is expected to boost trade and economic relations between Slovenia and Azerbaijan while enhancing investment cooperation. Slovenia is particularly keen to expand its ties with Azerbaijan in areas including pharmaceuticals, the chemical industry, small hydroelectric power plants, photovoltaic systems, ICT, infrastructure construction, electrical industries, tourism, and sports.
