Texas launches project to support Azerbaijan in demining efforts “Texans for a Landmine Free World: Azerbaijan"
The project "Texans for a Landmine Free World: Azerbaijan" dedicated to the mine problem in Azerbaijan has been launched in Dallas (US).
The main goal of the project is to attract the attention of the international community to the problem of mine threat in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, to promote the demining process by acquiring and sending mine detection dogs to the country, Caliber.Az informs, citing the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora.
In an appeal addressed to all communities in Texas, it is stated that Azerbaijan has undergone heavy trials during 30 years of occupation and still bears the heavy burden of that time.
The appeal notes that one of the difficulties Azerbaijan has faced is related to the mines that the Armenian armed forces plant en masse in the territory of Azerbaijan.
“The mines pollute the environment and threaten the lives of peaceful Azerbaijanis wishing to return to their native lands,” it added.
In addition, a cultural event will be held in Dallas on September 29 to raise the funds needed to purchase and send mine detection dogs to Azerbaijan.
