Turkish president to visit Turkmenistan on December 11–12
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will visit Turkmenistan on December 11–12, Burhanettin Duran, Head of Communications at the Turkish Presidency, announced.
Duran said Erdogan will take part in the International Forum of Peace and Trust, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the UN General Assembly’s decision to designate 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust,” Caliber.Az reports per Anadolu Agency.
He noted that President Erdoğan would address the Forum and hold meetings with attending heads of state and government, including, first and foremost, the leadership of the host country, Turkmenistan.
The Forum is the flagship event for the International Year of Peace and Trust (2025), a global initiative unanimously adopted by the United Nations General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan.
It is scheduled to take place in Ashgabat on December 12, 2025, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s internationally recognised status of permanent neutrality.
The Forum is designed as a high-level diplomatic platform, expected to gather heads of state, foreign ministers, international organisations and diplomatic representatives.
Its agenda will cover issues such as preventive diplomacy, regional cooperation, sustainable development, energy and transport connectivity, and global security — reflecting Turkmenistan’s vision of “neutrality-based” diplomacy.
