Türkiye eyes introducing single card for travelling, shopping, remittances
Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu has said that the Turkish government is planning to introduce a single “Türkiye Kart” card for travelling and shopping, money transfers and many other needs in the near future.
The pilot implementation of the innovation has been successfully completed, Milliyet quotes him as saying.
According to him, the pilot implementation of “Türkiye Kart” has been successfully completed. It will provide citizens with great convenience in the field of transport, money transfers and shopping.
"Our goal within the project is to put Türkiye Kart into use in all areas with the establishment of a clearing, switching, netting and operational centre that will include all stakeholders in the transport sector where urban public transport services are provided. Türkiye Kart can be used as a single card for fares, money transfers, shopping and many other needs," the minister said.
