Türkiye orders US engines for HÜRJET attack aircraft PHOTO
The Turkish aerospace company TUSAŞ has ordered the F404-102 engines from the US company GE for Hürjet, the domestic light attack aircraft.
TUSAŞ General Director Temel Kotil announced that 100 orders have been placed for the General Electric (GE) F404 engine, which is used in the training and light attack aircraft HÜRJET, Caliber.Az reports per SavunmaSanayiST.com on Twitter.

The HÜRJET combat aircraft is equipped with one General Electric F404-GE-102 engine. The HÜRJET, which successfully conducted its first engine launch test on January 30, 2023, took off on April 25, 2023.
The HÜRJET attack aircraft has flown about 10 test flights to date.
The 100 engines ordered in the US are 100 HURJET attack aircraft. The engines are expected to be produced in Eskisehir under a license from TUSAŞ.
During the Paris Air Show 2023, TUSAŞ and GE signed a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) agreement for the F110 turbofan engine. A similar agreement is likely to be signed for the F404-102.
