Two years pass since bloody Armenian terror in Azerbaijan's Barda city
Two years have passed since the next rocket attack by the Armenian armed forces on Azerbaijan's Barda city during the Second Karabakh War in 2020.
On October 28, 2020, the enemy launched Smerch missiles at the densely populated areas of Barda, targeting private and multi-apartment residential buildings, as well as shopping centres.
As a result of the deployment of cluster bombs prohibited by international law, 21 residents of Barda, including an employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, were killed, and about 70 people were injured, including 8 children.
At the same time, several civilian objects were severely destroyed and cars caught fire.
The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan launched a criminal case under Articles 120.2.1 (premeditated murder committed by a criminal organization-association), 120.2.4 (premeditated murder committed with special cruelty or in a generally dangerous way), 120.2.12 (premeditated murder, including on the grounds of nationality, race, religion), 100.2 (waging a war of aggression) and other articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Armenian military targeted the Barda region and the city centre three times (October 5, 27 and 28) with rocket and artillery shelling using prohibited munitions. The total death toll of the terror attacks stood at 29, while 112 were injured in addition to significant damage caused to civilian infrastructure.
In the Second Karabakh War from September 27 to November 9 in 2020, a total of 93 civilians, including 12 children and 27 women, were killed, and 454 people were injured in the wake of the Armenian aggression. Furthermore, more than 12 thousand residential and non-residential buildings and 288 vehicles were damaged, and over a thousand farms were destroyed.
