US traveler admires rapid construction pace, restoration in Karabakh
US traveler Brian Greco has admired the ongoing rapid construction and restoration work in the Karabakh region by the Azerbaijani government.
"We have just visited the new airport in Fuzuli city and were impressed by the timing of its construction. The government is again investing in the restoration and the creation of a new economic region for the country's residents, for those returning to their houses from which they were once forcibly evicted. Therefore, I think that it is important to invest in this infrastructure as the basis for the future peace and prosperity of the country," Greco told reporters, Report informs.
He added that the trips to Karabakh help not only to explore this region and enjoy its beauty, but also to understand the history of the country and understand what happened here.
Meanwhile, famous Azerbaijani traveler, one of the organisers of today's trip, Mehraj Mahmudov has said that the main purpose of trips of international delegations to Karabakh is to show the whole world what happened here, to help find out the truth about the region.
“Great changes have occurred in the region since Azerbaijan gained victory in the second Karabakh war and liberated previously occupied territories. The pace of construction and restoration work has accelerated. The need to develop the tourist flow to the region to enlighten the whole world about Karabakh is also important,” he told reporters, Report informs.
An international group of travelers from 26 countries has visited the liberated Azerbaijani territories on the eve of the third anniversary of the victory in the second Karabakh war.
