"Zangilan" tanker completes inaugural voyage to Turkmen port of Aladzha
The "Zangilan" tanker, constructed at Baku Shipyard under the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC (ASCO) and inaugurated on July 2 in the presence of President Ilham Aliyev, has completed its maiden voyage to the Turkmen port of Aladzha.
The tanker transported crude oil to Sangachal sea port on July 17, Caliber.Az reports citing ASCO.
Measuring 141 meters in length and 16.9 meters in width, the new-generation "Zangilan" tanker operates with a permanent crew of 15. It features six cargo tanks with a combined capacity of 9,212 cubic meters and a full cargo capacity of 7,800 tonnes.
Designed for versatility, the tanker's technical specifications enable it to navigate shallow ports within the Caspian basin and transport cargoes beyond the region at maximum capacity. Unlike its predecessors "Lachin" and "Kalbajar", the "Zangilan" tanker is equipped to handle both oil and chemical products, akin to the "Academician Khoshbakht Yusifzade".
Baku Shipyard has plans to construct three additional tankers of similar specifications for ASCO, having secured orders and finalized contracts for the purpose.
