Azerbaijani Mine Action Agency's employee killed by landmine in Jabrayil
On June 21, Rafig Deputat oglu Isayev, an employee of Azerbaijan's Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), tragically lost his life due to a mine explosion in the Jabrayil district. Born in 1980, Isayev was fatally injured in the incident.
Another ANAMA employee sustained injuries from the explosion and was promptly transported to the hospital. Fortunately, his condition is reported as satisfactory.
The Jabrayil district prosecutor's office confirmed to Caliber.Az that they have conducted an inspection of the site, initiated forensic medical examinations and carried out other necessary procedural measures.
An investigation into the incident has been launched by the prosecutor's office of Jabrayil district.
In another unfortunate incident in Azerbaijan's Jabrayil district, a landmine explosion occurred in the village of Horovlu, which had recently been liberated from occupation. Nuruyev Raghib Sahavat oglu, a resident of Goranboy district born in 1991, was driving a truck in an area presumed to have been demined. Tragically, the vehicle struck an anti-tank mine, resulting in an explosion.
As a consequence, the driver sustained injuries of varying severity. The Jabrayil district prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation into the incident to ascertain the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
